Xia was born in 1994 and grew up in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. She received her B.S. from Lanzhou University, where she worked with Professor Zhen Wang on total synthesis. In 2017, Xia moved to RIKEN and joined the Zhaomin Hou's group, studying olefin (co)polimerization catalyzed by rare-earth complexes. After obtaining her Master degree in 2019, Xia went to the He group to pursue her Ph.D, mainly focused on the COF-based transition-metal catalysis. Outside of lab, Xia enjoys yoga and climbing.
