Jun was born in 1992 and grew up in Ji’an, Jiangxi, China. He received his B.Sc degree in applied chemistry from Nanjing Tech University in 2014. After that, he conducted his PhD research on base metal-catalyzed sequential asymmetric hydrofunctionalization of alkynes under the supervision of Prof. Zhan Lu at Zhejiang University. After successfully defending his Ph.D. degree in 2019, he moved to SDSU as a postdoc, focusing on heterogeneous Perovskite-catalyzed C–C and C–N bond formation. In Nov. 2020, Jun joined the He group at HKU. Now, his research interests mainly lie in heterogeneous catalysis for highly efficient organic transformations. Outside of lab, Jun likes reading fictions, playing cards and Mahjong.
