Ben was born in 1988 and grew up in Dingxi, Gansu, China. He received his B.S. from Gansu Agricultural University. In 2011, Ben moved to Northwest Normal University, studying aza-Michael addition reaction. After obtaining his Master degree in 2014, Ben went to East China Normal University and joined the Junliang Zhang’s group to pursue his Ph.D., mainly focused on the C(sp2)–H functionalization of arenes via gold/copper catalysis. In 2020, Ben joined the He group as a postdoctoral fellow. His research interests lie in organometallic chemistry and radical chemistry. Outside of lab, Ben enjoys reading and swimming.
